Mohamed Salah’s record at Roma is better than all three of the players he will join in the Liverpool frontline when he completes his move to Anfield.
Salah’s medical is now expected to take place on Thursday as he becomes Liverpool’s most expensive player in a deal set to supercede the £35m paid to Newcastle for Andy Carroll.
So what will Liverpool be getting for their money?
While the comparison has to be preceded by the fact we’re comparing records in the Premier League against Serie A, it’s still worth noting that Salah has “scored more goals, registered more assists and boasts a superior minutes per goal or assist ratio than Liverpool’s current trio over the last two seasons.
The Egyptian winger scored 29 goals for Roma in Serie A, with Mane registering 24 with Southmapton and Liverpool, Coutinho 21 goals and Firmino also on 21.
It’s a similar story with assists.
Salah notched 17 for Roma with Firmino on 14, Coutinho on 12 and Mane on 11.
In combination Salah averaged a goal or assist every 113.6 minutes, better than Coutinho’s 128.8, Mane’s 138.7 and Firmino’s 144.3.
